Legionella Risk Assessment and Water Safety Consultancy
Providing independent Legionella Risk Assessments and water safety consultancy through a comprehensive, site-wide approach.
What We Do:
We carry out Legionella Risk Assessments and provide water safety consultancy services for dutyholders who are responsible for hot and cold water systems. Our work focuses on identifying real, site specific risk, explaining it clearly, and advising on proportionate control measures in line with legal requirements.
Our services focus on clarity, professional judgement, and proportionate risk control, supporting dutyholders to understand, manage, and defend their legal responsibilities for hot and cold water systems. All assessments are practical, evidence based, and written for those responsible for managing buildings, not simply to satisfy compliance.
All assessments are undertaken in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274, BS 8580-1:2019, and relevant LCA standards, applying professional judgement where guidance requires interpretation.
Who is This For:
This service is for dutyholders with responsibility for premises where water is stored, distributed, or capable of generating aerosols.
This includes:
Landlords, managing agents and letting agents
Employers and business owners of any size
Care homes and supported living
Education, community, and public buildings
Commercial and mixed use premises
If you control or manage premises with a water system, you are required to assess and control the risk from Legionella bacteria.
Why a Holistic Assessment Matters:
Legionella risk does not exist within individual assets in isolation. It develops through the interaction of system design, condition, usage patterns, temperature control, stagnation, and management arrangements across an entire site.
Many assessments divide this risk into disconnected system sections, leading to duplication, unclear priorities, and reports that are difficult to apply in practice. Our holistic approach considers the site as a whole, allowing risk to be assessed in context and managed more effectively.
How We Work:
We assess Legionella risk across the entire site rather than treating individual components as standalone risks. This allows us to clearly explain where risk exists, why it exists, how significant it is, and what proportionate control looks like in practice.
Our reports are structured, clear, and written for dutyholders and facilities teams, supporting informed decision making rather than simply satisfying a template.
What Makes This Different :
Legionella Risk Assessments delivered using a holistic, site wide methodology
Professional judgement applied in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274 part 2 & 3
Clear prioritisation of actual risk based on site conditions
Reporting that avoids duplication, contradiction, and unnecessary complexity
Independent advice with no link to remedial contractors
Our assessment template has been specifically developed to improve clarity, reduce cognitive load, and reflect how buildings are actually managed.
Written Scheme of Control Support:
Where required, we can prepare, review, or align Written Schemes of Control in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1:2019. This ensures that the findings of the Legionella Risk Assessment are translated into suitable and sufficient management arrangements, clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and appropriate monitoring, control, and review procedures specific to the site.
The preparation or substantial revision of a Written Scheme of Control is provided as a separately scoped service, reflecting the need for site specific detail, defined responsibility structures, and proportionate control measures.
Scope and Professional Boundaries
All services are provided on an advisory basis and are limited to the scope agreed at quotation stage. Responsibility for implementation, ongoing management, and compliance with statutory duties remains with the dutyholder or responsible person, unless expressly agreed in writing. No service is implied beyond that which is formally agreed upon.
